Thirst - From More Joy

Hold a glass of water.

Are you thirsty?

The water can refresh and renew,

but it must be consumed.

You are thirsty because water exists.

Take a drink.

Ahhh! It is good.

Your soul thirsts too.

Feel the longing and thirst of your soul.

Your soul longs for God.

You long for Him because He exists.

Today, every time you are refreshed

and renewed by water,

think of your soul being refreshed

and renewed by God.

Ahhh! It is good.

Psalm 63:1

O God, you are my God,

earnestly I seek you;

my soul thirsts for you,

my body longs for you,

in a dry and weary land

where there is no water.
